Google Play, US store, checked on 8 October 2026. Ratings change every day and can differ by country. Boo is a general dating and social app with gaming communities; the others are built for gamers.
1. It matches you on how you play
Sharing a favorite game is a start, not compatibility. DuoFit, Midnight Lobby's compatibility score, looks at when and for how long you play, your player type, how social you like your sessions, how you like to communicate and what you're looking for. Shared games count for at most 4 points out of 100. Your gender, age and distance preferences decide who appears; DuoFit decides the order.
2. The first message can be a game
The hardest part of any dating app is the blank chat. On Midnight Lobby, any match can open with a Duo Breaker, one of eight short two-player games built into the chat: Tic-Tac-Toe, Draw & Guess, Hangman, Would You Rather, Two Truths & a Lie, Word Guess, Word Grid Rush and Emoji Game Guess. They're turn-based, so you can play live or trade turns.
3. You can meet by playing first
A Lobby is an open seat for a quick one-on-one game. You pick a game and who can join — women, men or everyone — and eligible players can view your profile before taking the seat. The conversation starts with the game already going.
4. Messaging is free, with no daily limit
Reading, replying and sending messages is free for everyone: no subscription, no coins, no paywall. Likes and Super Likes have a daily allowance, and optional short videos unlock more.
5. It's built for every kind of gamer
PC, console, mobile and tabletop players; cozy, casual and competitive; looking for a long-term relationship, something casual or friends first. The app is in 10 languages, and you can identify as a man, a woman or non-binary and choose who you see. An AI agent screens photos for unsafe content, and block, unmatch and report are built into profiles and chats.
What Midnight Lobby doesn't do yet
- It's Android only, through Google Play. There is no iPhone version at the moment.
- It's in open beta since July 2026: the community is still growing, so some areas are quiet.
- DuoFit is a compatibility signal, not a scientific prediction.
Other gamer dating apps worth knowing
- Kippo: a gamer dating app with game-focused profile “cards”.
- LFGdating: a long-running gamer dating site and app, with a premium plan for unlimited messaging.
- Boo: a general dating and social app built around personality types, with gaming communities.
